Looking back on a press trip
It is an integral part of Edile Consulting’s work; the press trip is the high point of our mission. It means showing journalists from various media one or more facets of a country, around a theme agreed with the client.

These working trips put issues in perspective and test preconceptions against what is actually on the ground. The stake, let’s be honest, is also to secure editorial coverage and media impact.
Edile Consulting therefore organized a trip to Qatar for about ten journalists who chose to take part. Four days dedicated to the cultural, culinary and tourism heritage of a country that has invested heavily for years in welcoming visitors from around the world. During the trip we visited the National Museum — the “Desert Rose” — the Museum of Islamic Art, Banana Island, the Al Zubarah archaeological site, listed as UNESCO World Heritage, and its fort, the Sealine desert, Olafur Eliasson’s artwork in the desert, Katara Cultural Village, Lusail Boulevard… A journey mixing architectural heritage and cultural modernity, the classical and the contemporary, in a country of extraordinary cultural, culinary and heritage wealth.
I greatly value these trips. The professional side meets the simplest human relationships: new bonds among participants, received ideas challenged, unexpected discoveries that leave you speechless. The truth of the ground will always be my strongest argument: come and see, judge for yourself, and form an opinion that matches reality — far from ready-made thinking.
